Middlebury Police Log: Motorcyclists driving negligently

Middlebury police tried to stop a group of motorcyclists who were riding in what police described as a “grossly negligent manner” near the intersection of Route 7 and Cady Road on April 22. Police said the motorcyclists sped away from the scene.

Middlebury police deployed the department’s K-9 team on a vehicle during a traffic stop at the intersection of Route 7 and Willow Drive on April 1.

Middlebury police loaned the department’s K9 team to Vermont State Police at a vehicle stop on Route 7 on March 25. Police said K9 Guinness alerted on the vehicle, prompting police to seek a search warrant for the vehicle.

Middlebury police cited Gina Sherwood, 41, of Middlebury for suspicion of driving under the influence. The citation follow a stop on East Main Street on March 17.

Middlebury police on March 6 took into custody a man they described as a “transient of Middlebury” following an incident in the Route 7 area south of the village.

Middlebury police cited Wilmar Santillan, 30, of Essex for driving under the influence, following a stop at the intersection of Route 7 and Happy Valley Road on March 3.

Middlebury police cited Carolina M. Fisher, 28, of Bristol for suspicion of driving under the influence, resisting arrest and assault on law enforcement, following a vehicle accident on Case Street at around 3:50 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22.

Middlebury police assisted Middlebury Regional EMS officials with an unresponsive patient on Danyow Drive on Feb. 16.

Middlebury police cited Felecia L. Betourney, 29, of Leicester for driving under the influence, following a traffic stop on Route 7 South on Feb. 9.

Middlebury police cited Charles J. Ouellette, 31, of Middlebury for driving under the influence, following a stop on North Branch Road on Jan. 31.

Middlebury police on Jan. 23 began investigating a report of some juvenile Middlebury Union High School students making a recording of themselves having sex and then sharing that recording via social media.

Middlebury police arrested two former employees of the Subway Restaurant on Court Street after investigating a burglary report at that location on Jan. 15.

Middlebury police on Jan. 11 looked into an apparent shooting behind the Hannaford Supermarket late that Saturday morning, but found that no one was injured and investigation continues.
