Vermont State Police Log for Nov. 9

Vermont State Police responded to multiple reports of an active fight on the side of Route 7 near the intersection with Fern Lake Road in Leicester on Sunday at around 10 minutes  before 1 p.m. 

Vermont State Police were called to the Aubuchon Hardware parking lot off Monkton Road in Ferrisburgh this past Monday morning for a report that a pickup truck had struck a pedestrian.

Vermont State Police received an unusually large number of reports of vehicle thefts and thefts from vehicles in Bristol, Lincoln, Monkton and Starksboro throughout the early morning of Oct. 20.

In addition to the typical traffic accidents and drunk driving incidents, Vermont State Police during the past week were involved in a couple incidents of direct support of the public.

A Middlebury College student riding a bike in Cornwall this past Thursday was struck by a car driven by a Shoreham woman; fortunately the crash resulted only in suspected minor injuries, according to Vermont State Police.

Vermont State Police were joined by law enforcement officers from three other local agencies in the investigation, pursuit and capture of a 78-year-old New Haven man, who now faces multiple charges.

Vermont State Police operating out of the New Haven barracks dealt with two violent incidents between Sept. 6 and 19.

Neil A. Abrahamson, 36,  of Vergennes was seriously injured when he was hit by an SUV while he was aiding an injured animal on Route 7 late on the night of Sep. 6.

Vermont State Police dealt with two motor vehicle crashes in Addison County last week — the first sending a person to the hospital with injuries.

A Vermont State Police investigation last week into a reported domestic assault earlier in the month ended with a Cornwall man accused of a felony.

On Aug. 18, Vermont State Police announced that troopers had cited a Monkton man for sex crimes involving a child.

The Vermont Chief Medical Examiner’s Office on Aug. 3 confirmed to the Vermont State Police that there was no foul play in the death of a Middlebury teenager this past spring.

Wednesday last week — July 26 — was kind of a busy day for Vermont State Police dealing with people allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and other intoxicants. 

A Shoreham man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Orwell last week.

Vermont State Police, along with the state Department of Motor Vehicles Enforcement & Safety Division recently announced that they had concluded their investigation into a June 1 fire that destroyed a natural-gas tanker truck and damaged a portion of Rout … (read more)
