Vergennes police between July 29 and Aug. 4 dealt with several instances of alleged abuse and harassment, most apparently involving couples and former couples.

Vergennes police on June 25 issued four citations to a Panton man after stopping a vehicle he was driving on Panton Road because it lacked a front license plate and a valid inspection sticker.

Vergennes police took advantage of a mostly quiet week between June 10 and 16 to devote time to keeping city roads safe: City police stopped 20 vehicles for a variety of moving violations during those seven days.

Vergennes police on May 18 cited into court a Hillside Drive apartment resident for domestic assault.

Vergennes police backed up Vermont State Police on Sunday, May 12, in a break-in at a Lake Street home in Panton that police said followed a car accident. 

Vergennes police on Sunday, May 5, cited a Massachusetts man for driving under the influence of alcohol, test refusal, after being told by concerned family members he’d been driving with slurred speech. 

Vergennes police on Sunday, April 28, took a report of fraud involving the supposed sale of two kittens via Facebook to a city resident. 

Despite the heavy traffic during the day of the eclipse, Vergennes police reported only two minor vehicle accidents within city limits on April 8, and only one on Main Street, which is also Route 22A through the middle of the city.
