The third-seeded Otter Valley Union High School football team outlasted visiting No. 6 Mill River, 12-6, on Saturday in a Division III quarterfinal and will play at No. 2 Fairfax in a semifinal this coming Saturday.
The OV boys’ golf team dominated the field at the Manchester Country Club on Thursday to win the Division II championship by a 22-stroke margin.
The Middlebury and Otter Valley union high school football teams picked up vital wins this past weekend, while Mount Abraham-Vergennes lost in overtime on the road.
The Mount Abraham-Vergennes cooperative football team converted seven Otter Valley turnovers into 30 points on Saturday as the Division II Eagles won for the first time this season, 44-20, at the visiting Otters’ expense.
Elena Politano and Anna Lee finished fifth in the Division II championship girls’ golf tournament, held on Oct. 7 on the Dorset Field Club course.
The Otters scored twice in the first quarter and added another goal in the first minute of the second quarter, junior forward Ryleigh LaPorte’s second of the game, on the way to their 5-0 victory.
Visiting Windsor cruised past the Otter Valley Union High School football team on Saturday, 49-8, in a battle of previously unbeaten Division III squads.
