Rep. Becca Balint warns state may be ‘in the crosshairs’ of Trump

Balint told VTDigger’s The Vermont Conversation that Trump’s retribution can take many forms.

Vermont’s congressional delegation condemned the U.S. military’s attack on Venezuela over the weekend that led to the capture of the country’s leader, Nicolás Maduro.

All three members of Vermont’s congressional delegation are opposed to a deal to end the historic government shutdown that passed the U.S. Senate late Monday and is headed to the House.

U.S. Rep. Becca Balint, D-Vt., toured Addison County late last week to survey two kinds of hardships from which many area residents are trying to recover — those caused by recent flooding, and those caused by mental illness.

We have personal experience working with Becca in the Legislature; we have seen her listen to multiple viewpoints to understand, collaborate with others to move legislation forward, and tackle tough issues head on.

She has worked with and for Vermont and Vermonters throughout her adult life, and — most notably — has served several years in the Vermont Senate, including as President Pro Tem during the last term.

Four of the candidates vying for Vermont’s open seat in the U.S. House of Representatives participated in a virtual July 19 Congressional Candidate Forum on Food & Agriculture to discuss the most pressing issues in the state’s food and farming sectors.

In the Democratic primary battle of Vermont’s lone congressional seat, Democrats — and all others who intend to vote in this important primary — must take a step back from their political partisanship and look at the bigger picture.

I would like to echo Gardner Merriam’s criticism of the guest editorial and “hatchet job” of Becca Balint.

Wow! The Lynn Gang strikes again! Or, Who’s Afraid of Becca? Or, does the unsinkable Molly Gray actually have a few holes in her boat?

Becca Balint, a Democratic candidate for Vermont’s U.S. House seat, acts as if the rules do not apply to her. That should raise questions about the integrity of Ms. Balint’s campaign.

Last year, Becca Balint became the first woman and first openly gay person to be sworn in as Vermont Senate President pro tem, second-highest-ranking official of the Senate. Now she’s hoping to become the first woman to represent Vermont in Congress.

As the leader of a Middlebury manufacturing company with 50 employees in Vermont, the husband of a small business owner, the father of four kids, and the son of a 91-year-old Vermonter, I’m supporting Becca Balint for U.S. Congress.

Of all the folks I’ve met in the State House, Becca Balint stands out as particularly authentic in her desire to serve the public, and not being in it for herself.
