Letter to the editor: Criticism of Balint aside, she is qualified for House
I would like to echo Gardner Merriam’s criticism of the guest editorial and “hatchet job” of Becca Balint. Becca’s qualifications for U.S. Congress cannot be overstated; she actually possesses a legislative track record (gun safety laws, affordable housing, and reproductive rights) and a background of true leadership in the state Senate (as Senate Pro Temporare).
While Peter Welch’s shoes may be hard to fill, Becca Balint has the proven track record to deliver for us in Washington. I hope you will join me in voting for Becca Balint on August 9.
