- FELLOW WEYBRIDGE RESIDENTS Benny Wilhelm, 8, (left) and Sam Weir, 9, had slightly different approaches when they created decorative tiles at this past Saturday’s “Family Fun Day” at Middlebury College’s Mahaney Arts Center. Looks like one took a figurative approach, and the other went for an abstract design. Independent photo/Steve James

- WASH-OUT. The Vergennes Union High School baseball field gathered puddles due to rain on what was supposed to be the Commodores’ season opener on Tuesday, April 14. The game was cancelled, and the team was due to play Richford at home on Wednesday, April 15, after deadline for this edition. Commodore baseball was just one of a few teams to had to pushback their start to the spring due to the weather. Crossing our fingers for fair skies on game day for the rest of the spring!
