Mary (Baker) Alexander, 82 of Bristol
BRISTOL — Mary (Baker) Alexander passed away peacefully April 12, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Born Oct. 3, 1943, she was the only daughter of James and Bernadette Baker and grew up alongside her four brothers in Essex, Winooski, and Vergennes.
In 1965 she married Kenneth “Joe” Alexander, with whom she shared over 60 years of marriage. Together they built a home and raised 6 children. Mary dedicated many years to working in the offices of the Monkton Elementary School and Mt. Abraham UHS, where she especially enjoyed her interactions with the students.
After her children were grown Mary and Joe spent many years traveling in their camper meeting new friends and seeing the countryside.
Mary is survived by her husband, Joe; her children, Mary, Becky (Dean), Lorri (Brian), Kevin (Stephanie), Jack (TC), and Jill (Scott); and one bonus daughter, Liz; along with 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her cherished brother Don; sisters-in-law Ginette and Shari; and numerous special nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents and three brothers, Tom, Jim, and Bill, along with his wife Janice.
As per her wishes, there will be no calling hours or services; in lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in her memory be made to Homeward Bound or the Estuary at Porter Hospital, where she received exceptional care in her final days. ◊
