FERRISBURGH — With heavy hearts we would like to announce that our beloved mother, wife, sister, and grandma Eleanor “Ellie” Ball passed peacefully at McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester Oct. 7, 2026.
Ellie was born April 21, 1939, in Burlington, Vt., the daughter of Donald and Genice Townsend Brand.
She was predeceased by her daughters Deborah Parrott and Donna Mae of Burlington.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin Ball of Ferrisburgh; a daughter, Bonnie Ball; two sons, Bobby Parrott of Colorado, David Parrot and his wife Angela; a brother, Robert Brand of Williston; nieces and nephew Francis Brand and Genice Brand, both of New York; her grandchildren, Mariah Parrott, Matthew Parrott, and Nicholas Parrott of Burlington, and Tabatha and Autumn Borthwick of Colorado.
Her hobbies were scrapbooking, playing games, traveling, arts and crafts and yard sale-ing.
In lieu of flowers. please send contributions to the McClure Miller Respite House, 3113 Roosevelt Highway, Colchester, VT 05446. A very big thank you to the men and women that took excellent care of our beloved mom during her stay at the respite house.
There will be a private family burial. A celebration of Ellie’s life will be in the springtime of 2027. The time and place will be posted in the Addison Independent paper. Thank you from the family.◊
