Here’s what to expect this town meeting day in Waltham.

Waltham’s recent reappraisal means property tax payments won’t be lower for everyone.

There are contested Town Meeting Day races in two of the five communities that include Vergennes and the four other towns northwest corner of Addison County.

Waltham is no exception to the trend in most communities local and state-wide: Its overall residential tax rate — including taxes to support municipal services and Addison Northwest School District schools — rose this year.

City Counselor Mel Hawley and Ferrisburgh Town Clerk Pam Cousino determined Vergennes was undercharged by $6,357 and Waltham by $482, while Ferrisburgh was overbilled by $5,707 and Panton by $2,005.
