Panther softball takes three of four contests

Middlebury College softball had a successful weekend leading up to its league tournament.

Vergennes Union softball has high hopes for this season and began with a decent start, taking two out of three games despite being shorthanded for two of them.

Middlebury College softball brought out the big bats for a three-game series vs. Wesleyan this past weekend.

While most high school softball games in the past week were called off due to unfavorable weather and wet fields, at least Mount Abraham and Middlebury played and won one game apiece.

The Panther softball team improved to 13-8, 5-4 NESCAC West, by taking two out of three from host Hamilton this past weekend.

The Mount Abraham softball team jumped to a quick 11-1 lead over visiting Spaulding on Tuesday and cruised to a 15-6 victory in the Eagles’ opener.

The Panther softball team improved to 11-7, 4-3 NESCAC, after winning four times in five outings last week.

Host Amherst this past weekend took two out of three games from the Middlebury College softball team in the season-opening NESCAC West Series for both squads.

The Middlebury College softball team concluded its spring trip to Florida late last week with a 6-4 record after winning twice in its final five outings in Clermont.

The Middlebury College softball team bolted to four wins in the first five games of its annual spring break trip to Florida in games through Monday. All games are being played in Clermont.
