Bristol Rescue Squad calls rise 30% in 2 years

In August, the agency responded to around 100 calls, the highest monthly total in its history. And this reflects a larger trend within the organization, which has seen its annual call volume increase in recent years. 

County residents Nichole Bachand-Bartlett, Krystal Turnbaugh and Talena Jestice have each spent the past several years helping vulnerable animals in need of care or a loving home.

Bristol is exploring ways to make three of its town parks easier for all visitors to enjoy. The effort, largely organized by Bristol resident Porter Knight, is aimed at identifying options for making Memorial, Sycamore and Eagle parks more accessible. 

The Bristol selectboard is continuing to explore the possibility of building a new headquarters for the Bristol Police Department next to the town’s fire station and on Monday received initial cost estimates for the project.

The town of Bristol’s development review board will on July 25 hold a second hearing on a conditional use permit for the operation of a business yard on Lower Notch Road. 

The new Plank Road Art Stand and Gifts, run by Bristol resident and artist Brenda Myrick, operates out of a converted pony trailer parked in front of Myrick’s home.
