Sixteen Addison Northwest School District (ANWSD) students competed in the Vermont Historical Society’s annual Vermont History Day Contest, held in-person and virtually at the University of Vermont’s Davis Center on Saturday, April 2.

The ANWSD-MAUSD Merger Study Committee gave preliminary approval to an article of agreement that would allow a future merged district to close elementary schools if certain academic and financial conditions are met.

After Gov. Scott recommended lifting school masking recommendations, some Addison County schools are making tentative plans to do so.

Watching the MAUSD/ANWSD Merger Study Committee (MSC) right now is like watching people evacuate a ship into rickety lifeboats without confirming that the ship is indeed sinking.

The group discussing the merger of Vergennes- and Bristol-area schools is not ready to commit to local control of elementary schools.

Superintendent Sheila Soule recommended in December that the district board move the Addison Wayfinder Experience special education program out of Addison Central School and into Vergennes Union High School.
