MIDDLEBURY — If you’d like your dog(s) to attend the Aug. 10 screening of the new documentary “Inside the Mind of a Dog” at Middlebury’s Memorial Sports Center — and potentially break a world record for “most dogs to attend a film screening” in the process — read on.

The film, to hit Netflix on Aug. 9, is directed by Middlebury’s own Andy Mitchell and is narrated by actor Rob Lowe. It’s billed as a “highly entertaining, deep dive … to uncover the mysteries of the world’s most popular pet.”

If the Memorial Sports Center screening can attract 220 or more dogs, the world record is in the bag.

The film (view the trailer at tinyurl.com/4ahx4h2r) will begin at 4 p.m.; doors will open at 3 p.m. Dogs arriving late won’t be counted in the attempt.

Registration for your pet is quick and easy — just a photo and a few questions for owners. Online pre-registration (tinyurl.com/bdwaxwpd) before the event is highly recommended, but it can also be done at the door. • Dogs with aggressive history won’t be allowed to attend.
  • Dogs must have current licenses and vaccines.
