Nontraditional gallery to open in Ripton

Well off the beaten path, a small, non-traditional art gallery is opening in Ripton. Mountain Hounds Studio will present a selection of works from local and national artists, staged in a contemporary studio apartment.

Ripton Historical Society and the Green Mountain District of the U.S. Forest Service met at the historic Calvin Pier Tavern site on Halloween, Tuesday, Oct. 31, to celebrate more than two years of cooperative work.

Ripton’s Baxter Harrington had impressive results as he represented the United States at the 2023 World Junior Skyrunning Championships in Italy.

Jacob Rice will perform his hybrid country sound at the Ripton Community Church on Monday, Aug. 7, at 7 p.m.

Baxter Harrington has left the Green Mountain running trails in Ripton to compete in Italy’s rugged Apennine Mountains in the Youth Skyrunning World Championships.

Everyone is invited to participate in the commemoration of Ripton’s historic Calvin Pier Tavern site and the recently improved Robert Frost Recreation Area Tuesday, July 11, at 10 a.m., at Ripton Community Church. 

The Middlebury Bread Loaf Translators’ Conference and Bread Loaf Environmental Writer’s Conference will each offer free lectures and readings to the public when they are in session June 2-7. 

Beaver expert Skip Lisle of Grafton last Thursday constructed a flow device at a culvert under Route 125 near the Robert Frost Interpretive Trail in Ripton.
