Bow and muzzleloader hunt numbers down

This fall and early winter, deer hunters using bows and muzzleloader guns locally had the least success in the past nine years.

Time to apply for muzzleloader permits

Vermont’s muzzleloader season antlerless deer permit applications are now available online at Vermont Fish and Wildlife’s website and from license agents. A link to the information and online applications is on the home page. 

Muzzleloader permit winners named

Deer hunters who applied for a Vermont muzzleloader season antlerless deer permit by the Aug. 3 deadline can now go to the Vermont Fish and Wildlife website (www.vtfishandwildlife.com) to see if they won a permit. 

Muzzleloader antlerless permits available

The muzzleloader seasons on Oct. 27-30 and Dec. 3-11 will have antlerless permits available for 19 of Vermont’s 21 Wildlife Management Units. Landowners who post their land may not apply for a landowner priority muzzleloader antlerless deer permit.

Bow and muzzleloader hunters bag lots of deer

Local hunters once again in 2021 took advantage of the Department of Fish & Wildlife’s October-November archery and October muzzleloader seasons, bringing in 269 deer to be weighed at one of Addison County’s seven wildlife reporting stations.
