Sheriff’s department ensures safety on the roads

On Jan. 2 County Sheriff Mike Elmore reported that Samantha Hatch, 23, of Whiting crashed her vehicle on Route 30 in Cornwall on the evening of Jan. 1 and did not report it.

Bristol police on Dec. 3 responded to a family fight on West Street and, after investigating, arrested Christopher Prim, 54, of Bristol.

Vergennes police went out at night during the snowstorm two days before Christmas to make sure the streets were ready for the city’s Public Works Department to clean them.

Middlebury police cited Rachael Dos Anjos, 36, of Bristol for driving under the influence.

Vermont State Police followed up on a report of a stolen car last week and ended up jailing a man on Christmas Eve on suspicion he had committed 11 crimes.

Addison County State’s Attorney Eva Vekos pleaded no contest Tuesday to a charge of drunken driving and received a six-month deferred sentence.

Vergennes police arrested a city resident on Dec. 11 and cited her for aggravated disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

A man captured by Vermont State Police in Leicester last week must post very large bail if he wants to get out of jail before trial.

Addison County Sheriff’s Department deputies on Dec. 12 attempted to find a vehicle that came over the Champlain Bridge on Route 17 and had lost three tires on a trailer it was towing.

When police were called to Leicester for a camper blocking the road last Friday morning it ended up with them putting a man in jail with bail set at $25,000.
