Middlebury Police Log: Man cited for DUI, third offense

Middlebury police cited Richard J. Murray, 57, of Middlebury for driving under the influence, third offense, following a traffic stop on Weybridge Street on Feb. 15.

Vergennes police on Feb. 8 cited a Shoreham resident for driving under the influence of alcohol, or DUI, after receiving a parking complaint from the Champlain Farms convenience store on Main Street.

A Ripton man was killed in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of East Street and Market Road in Bridport on Feb. 6, according to Vermont State Police.

Middlebury police documented a swastika hate symbol that had been drawn on the wall at the Ilsley Public Library on Feb. 6. Then it was removed from the building.

Addison County State’s Attorney Eva Vekos on Monday pleaded not guilty in court to a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence.

Vergennes police handled two complaints about fraud on Jan. 30, one of which they referred to Vermont State Police.

Vermont State Police dealt with several motor vehicle crashes and handed out several citations for driving under the influence (DUI) during the past week.

Middlebury police cited Amanda Rogers-Wilson, 29, of Middlebury for second-degree aggravated domestic assault, and a domestic offense committed within the presence of a child, at a Court Street residence on Jan. 31. 

A Monkton woman has pleaded guilty to conspiring with her son to kill her husband more than three years ago, heading off a trial that was set to begin next week.

Vergennes police on Jan. 26 responded to a report that two Vergennes Union High School students found a bullet in the hallway that runs between the school’s high school gymnasium and its nearby concession stand. 

Vermont State Police working out of the New Haven barracks in the past week have dealt with a couple traffic crashes, issued a couple citations for driving under the influence and investigated some domestic violence cases.

Middlebury police cited Byron T. Murray, 39, of Middlebury for interfering with access to emergency services in the Weybridge Street area on Jan. 27. Police were called around 6:30 a.m. on that Saturday.

The Addison County State’s Attorney was arrested for suspicion of driving while under the influence Thursday after she showed up at the scene of a suspicious death in Bridport.

Vergennes police on Jan. 15 cited a Ferrisburgh man for forgery, alleging that he altered the payment line on a check written by a family member who lives in Vergennes.

At a few minutes after midnight this past Friday, Jan. 19, Vermont State Police responded to a 911 call from Maleek Drummond, 42, of Brooklyn, N.Y., who was calling from the Ferrisburgh Park & Ride at the confluence of Routes 7 and 22A.
