Vergennes police were called on Feb. 1 to handle a case of a juvenile allegedly stealing three non-alcoholic beverages from the Main Street Champlain Farms convenience store. 

Middlebury Police Log: Police investigate hit-and-run after vehicle strikes dog

Middlebury police investigated a report of a vehicle striking a German shepherd dog on Quarry Road at around 6:30 a.m. on Feb. 3. Police said the driver in question hadn’t stopped after striking the dog, who later died at the vet’s office. 

Vergennes Police Log for Feb. 2

Between Jan. 23 and 29 Vergennes police conducted 19 traffic stops. City police have said they ticket drivers in about half of such stops, and they issue warnings in the other half ending.
