Vergennes Police Log: Winooski driver cited for DUI, fifth offense

VERGENNES — Vergennes police on Jan. 21 cited a Winooski man for allegedly driving under the influence of drugs, fifth offense, following a West Main Street traffic stop.
Police said they screened and cited Hassan Nur, 40, of Winooski after they stopped his vehicle for allegedly traveling 47 mph in a 30 mph zone. They also ticketed Nur for speeding and for failing to use an interlock device, which requires a driver to blow into a breathalyzer before starting or continuing to operate a vehicle.
Also between Jan. 20 and 26 police ticketed four vehicles for parking overnight on city streets in violation of the Vergennes winter parking ban, and ordered two of them to be towed. During traffic details police also ticketed one motorist on Main Street and two on Monkton Road.
