Boys’ soccer: VUHS, MUHS net victories

ADDISON COUNTY — Vergennes and Middlebury picked up victories to highlight recent local high school boys’ soccer action; Mount Abraham and Otter Valley were less successful.
COMMODORES
The Commodores picked up a huge win on Monday, dealing 2019 Division II champion Stowe its first loss since the 2018 season, 2-1 in double overtime. Jonah Mahé knocked in the game-winner, with an assist from Avery Husk, four minutes into the second OT.
Tucker Stearns, from Jonathan Willis, gave VUHS the lead early in the second half, and Adrian Bryan equalized for the Raiders with three minutes left in regulation. Isaiah Schaefer-Geiger made seven saves for Stowe (4-1), and Gabe Kadric stopped four shots for the Commodores.
On Wednesday VUHS defeated host Fair Haven, 2-0, to improve to 4-1-1. Mahé and Jarret Muzzy scored, and Kadric made one save.
TIGERS
The Tigers (3-0-1) on Oct. 9 coasted at Spaulding, 4-0. Goals came from Owen Connelly (two), Trey Bosworth and Edward Fallis.
On Wednesday visiting Milton improved to 5-0 by defeating the Tigers, 3-2. Yellowjacket keeper Braeden Caragher made four saves.
Lucas Nelson and Henry Carpenter scored for the 3-1-1 Tigers, and Owen Lawton made eight saves.
EAGLES
On Oct. 9 visiting Milton remained unbeaten with a 6-1 victory over the Eagles. Joe Graziadei converted a penalty kick for Mount Abe, and goalies Will Vichi (three) and Creed Stilwell (one) combined for four stops.
On Monday host Fairfax also remained undefeated by blanking the Eagles, 3-0. Fairfax goalie Kolton Gillian worked a six-save shutout for the Bullets, while Vichi stopped seven shots for the 2-3 Eagles.
OTTERS
On Saturday host Bellows Falls topped the Otters, 3-1. Cole Letourneau scored for OV, from Kieran Williams. OV fell to 2-2 despite putting 15 shots on the BF net.
On Monday Fair Haven rallied for a 3-2 victory over OV. The Slaters picked up their first win by scoring the game’s final two goals, while OV dropped to 2-3.
The game went into halftime tied 1-1, with Letourneau finding the net for OV. Otter Hayden Bernhardt made it 2-1 early in the second half. Bryce Coe, Johnny Bruno and Nick Carrabino scored for Fair Haven, and goalie Kole Matta made six saves. OV goalie Ben Adams stopped 10 shots.
