Mount Abe boys’ soccer overcomes VUHS challenges for a win

In a typically hard-fought duel on Saturday between the rivals, the host Eagles earned a 2-0 victory over the Commodores in what was the final regular season game for both squads.

Mount Abe boys jump to an early lead and hold off a rally and last-minute onslaught by a visiting Middlebury team.

A pair of brothers had big games for the Tigers, but the Commodores hung close the whole time.

The No. 2 seed MUHS boys’ soccer team fell behind by three goals in Wednesday’s Division II semifinal vs. Harwood, but the Tigers clawed their way back.

No. 2 seed Tiger boys’ soccer advanced to the Division II semifinal by soundly beating No. 10 Lake Region on Saturday.

MUHS boys’ soccer moved closer to a Lake Division championship when they turned back a challenge from visiting Mount Abraham this past Friday.
