Vergennes Police Log: City police look for motorists stranded in the cold

On Friday night, Dec. 5, department officers conducted a city-wide patrol due to below-freezing temperatures, in particular looking for disabled vehicles with operators in need of aid.  

Vergennes police on Nov. 28 arrested a local man and a woman, whom they described as homeless, for a series of thefts.

Vergennes police on Nov. 17 cited a Bridport resident for driving under the influence of drugs, first offense, an action taken following a traffic stop on West Main Street.

Vergennes police while working on ongoing investigations also recently continued to patrol city and nearby roads for safety between Nov. 10 and 16.

Vergennes police are warning residents of a mail scam circulating in the city.

Erica Curtis, 34, of Vergennes, was issued multiple citations after she allegedly “provided a juvenile with a vape pen knowing it contained THC,” according to a police report. 

Vergennes police recently dealt with two separate cocaine-related incidents.

Vergennes police conducted 41 traffic stops for moving violations or defective equipment.

Brian Dolan, 60, of Vergennes, was charged with Prohibited Conduct and Disorderly Conduct after a visible display of lewd behavior.

Vergennes police cited two people for disorderly conduct on Sept. 25 and took them to a detox facility.

Vergennes police cited Wayne Palmer, 19, of Burlington, for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.

Vergennes police last week continued to focus on keeping local roads safe.

Police cited Trevor Matton, 39, of Vergennes, for violating active pre-trial conditions of release and a court-issued no-stalking order.

Timothy Farr, 72, of Middlebury, was evaluated for sleeping outside in bad weather and arrested on an active warrant.
