Letter to the editor: Voter registration key to preserving democracy

I am a concerned voter in Addison County. I believe that all citizens who are 18 or over should have the right to vote and I am doing all I can to help in that effort.

The Medicare Open Enrollment period ends on December 7, and I wish I had had the knowledge when I signed up that I now have about MA. “Medicare Advantage” (MA) is not an advantage for seniors and people with disabilities.

Since Open Enrollment for medical plans runs until Dec. 7, our experience with changing from Medicare Advantage to traditional Medicare is relevant.

The Vermont Public Utilities Commission could do so much more to advance clean energy and help the planet recover in time for our grandchildren to lead healthy lives.

Democrats must not be silent, speaking out is necessary in order to maintain our democracy.

No other president has had to deal with a defeated president who not only tried to reverse the election, but has promoted the “Big Lie.”

Sen. Leahy and Sen. Sanders must do everything they can to pass the Freedom to Vote Act, including fixing the filibuster, to realize the fair maps for all.
