The Mount Abraham-Vergennes cooperative boys’ high school lacrosse team on Saturday concluded the program’s most successful regular season — including those of the separate Mt. Abe and VUHS squads that preceded MAV — by defeating visiting Randolph, 12-1.

The Mount Abraham-Vergennes cooperative girls’ high school lacrosse team earned the No. 3 seed in Division II with a 9-5 regular season record and will open its title quest on Friday at 4:30 p.m. with a home quarterfinal.

In a game that featured two dramatic touchdowns that created lead changes in the final 1:09, the No. 5 seed Mount Abraham-Vergennes football team defeated No. 4 Rice, 43-40, in a Division III quarterfinal on Saturday. 

Otter Valley football outscores Eagles

The Otter Valley football team broke open Saturday’s Division III game against Mount Abraham-Vergennes with a three-touchdown second quarter on the way to a big homecoming win, 46-25. The result left both teams at 2-2.

Eagle football takes opener

The Mount Abraham/Vergennes football team won its Division III opener on Saturday, 20-14, at Poultney, snapping a 14-14 tie in the fourth quarter on the third of Jamison Couture’s three rushing touchdowns.
