No. 3 seed Fair Haven football team bounced No. 6 Mount Abraham/Vergennes out of the Division III postseason this past Friday night, 49-6, in a quarterfinal matchup. The Slaters improved to 7-2 and advanced to a semifinal this weekend against No. 2 Bellows Falls.

MAV football overwhelms D-II rival Milton

The Mount Abraham-Vergennes cooperative football team ran over visiting Division II rival Milton on this past Saturday afternoon, 55-8, to improve to 5-2. 

Eagle running game wears down OV football

Saturday’s high school football game saw momentum shifts between Otter Valley and the cooperative Mount Abraham-Vergennes team. It turned the host Eagles’ way in the second half, when MAV outscored the Otters, 18-0, to claim a 36-27 victory.

MAV football prevails over Mill River

The Division II Mount Abraham-Vergennes cooperative football team started their season on Saturday with a 30-20 victory at Mill River, a D-III playoff team a year ago. The game was the opener for both teams. 

Eagle boys’ lacrosse wins it all!

Mount Abe/Vergennes fell in the D-III titles games both of the last two years, but this season the senior-laden team was ready for Saturday’s state final.

In a Saturday duel that decided the No. 2 seed for the Division II girls’ lacrosse playoffs that begin this week, visiting U-32 defeated the Mount Abraham-Vergennes cooperative team, 10-4, in a game played at Mount Abe.

The Mount Abraham-Vergennes cooperative boys’ lacrosse team won a pair of recent games to improve to 8-4 and apparently lock down the No. 2 seed in Division III. Playoff pairings will be announced Monday.

The Mount Abraham/Vergennes girls’ lacrosse team swept three recent games, improving the squad’s winning streak to seven straight and remaining in second place in Division II with an 8-2 record.
