Lincoln news for Sept. 26

The 5 Town Partnership will once again be sponsoring Share the Warmth: A Winter Outerwear Giveaway on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Bristol Town Green. Everyone is invited to come take whatever they need for clothing for the upcoming winter season. All items are free.

First Saturday of the month is coming and Burnham Presents has another great concert for us. The Clement Brothers will play on Saturday, Oct. 5, at Burnahm Hall in Lincoln. Music starts at 7:30 for two sets with a short intermission.

The Lincoln Ladies Aid Industria Fall Rummage Sale will be held at Burnham Hall on Thursday, Oct. 3 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, Oct. 4 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 5 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

A new Bone Builders class with certified leader Carol Bradford will start on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at the Lincoln Library from 9 to 10 a.m. RSVP Bone Builders is a free, low-impact program that includes weight training with dumbbells and ankle weights.

It’s back to school time. Welcome back to all returning students, teachers and staff and welcome to all those beginning their first year.

Back at it for a second season, Beth Duquette and Mark Mulqueen (along with a crew of volunteers) are prepping the Burnham Hall stage in Lincoln for the 2024-2025 Burnham Presents music series.

Lincoln Sports is working to create more opportunities for 5-Town residents to enjoy the natural landscape.

The next Pop-In People session will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 14, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the library. Paint a beautiful oyster shell that can be used to decorate a space or hold a few precious items.

The children from the WWJD Summer Bible Camp of the United Church of Lincoln will be having a bake and lawn sale on Saturday, Aug. 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. next to the Lincoln General Store.

I have recently met with the Lincoln Cemetery Association with the idea of spearheading a project to replace the fence around our largest cemetery, which is beautiful but deteriorating beyond repair.

Lincoln resident Michael Chorney has spent much of his life making music. It was music that first brought Chorney, 63, to the Green Mountain State as a teenager hoping to start a band.
