Are you interested in coaching or being a referee? The basketball program is looking for a few coaches for the 5/6 grade boys’ team and, depending on how many kids sign up, the 3/4 grade team.

Registration is now open for Lincoln youth basketball. The three teams will consist of grades K/1/2 and focus on skills and drills and grades 3/4 and 5/6 will have practice and games.

Frazier inducted into Civil War vets organization

Brian Frazier, Lincoln resident whose family has a long line of service in the U.S. military, was recently inducted into the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States, known as MOLLUS.

Lincoln School District launches superintendent search

A search committee made up of community members and district officials will help facilitate that search over the next month and identify a candidate to begin leading the one-town district at the start of next year.

Oct. 19, 1781, is a fairly well known date in United States history. On that day British General Charles Cornwallis surrendered to French and American forces at Yorktown, Va., marking the beginning of the end of the Revolutionary War.
