Letter to the editor: Unity is the best way to defeat Trump

The 2020 presidential election is Bernie Sander’s to lose. By this I do not mean that I expect Sanders’s to be the Democratic candidate opposing Donald Trump in November. It will certainly be Joe Biden. But unless Sanders and his cohort of Bernie Bros abandon their fantasies of a political revolution and unite with moderate Democrats and even some Republicans to defeat Donald Trump, Trump will be reelected. And the consequences of another four years of Trump in the White House are too terrifying to contempl … (read more)

Editorial: Make America decent again

Super Tuesday was exciting, shocking politics. Vice President Joe Biden’s surge from his seemingly moribund campaign prior to Saturday’s South Carolina’s blow-out to Tuesday’s victory in 9 of 14 states, many of which he had no ground game or advertising p … (read more)

Editorial: Dropping down the rabbit hole with Trump’s GOP

Here’s how to determine how far down the authoritarian rabbit hole we are as a country, and, on a local level, how far we each might be as individuals. On the national level, one simple test is to watch how the Republican Party responds to President Trump … (read more)

Greg Dennis: Why Trump will lose the election

Fear not, my fellow liberals: Donald Trump is a one-term president. If you believe, as I do, that anyone who says they know what will happen in the 2020 presidential election actually has no idea what will happen, then you can happily ignore the first sen … (read more)

Letter to the editor: Corrupt POTUS must be ousted

Editorial: Trump’s speech mirrors his reality TV presidency

Editorial: No, Mr. Trump, all is not well

Contrary to Trump’s juvenile tweet in the wake of Iran’s missile attack Tuesday on two U.S. military bases in Iraq that “all is well… so far,” any realistic assessment of America’s position in the Middle East over the past couple of years would outline ho … (read more)

Guest editorial: The president is on trial; so is the Republican Senate
