NORTH CLARENDON — Host Mill River fended off the Middlebury Union High School boys’ basketball team on Monday, 59-52. The Minutemen moved to 5-1, while the Tigers dropped to 3-2. They were set to visit Milton on Wednesday night, and will entertain North Country on Friday.
On Monday MRU led by 30-20 at the half, but the Tigers came within three points twice early in the fourth quarter on hoops by Tyler Buxton and Gabe Dunn before the Minutemen were able to get enough hoops and free throws to hold on.
