MUHS principal candidates to visit next week

MIDDLEBURY — An Addison Central School District search committee has picked two finalists to contend for the impending principal vacancy at Middlebury Union High School, and those two individuals will be visiting the campus next week for tours and interviews.
ACSD Superintendent Peter Burrows on Tuesday identified the finalists as Justin Campbell, now in his eighth year as principal of Hanover High School in Hanover, N.H., and Rebecca Tatistcheff, a district leader and administrative coach in New York City who has previous experience as a building principal and co-principal.
Of Campbell, Burrows said, “He brings experience as an assistant principal and a former high school chemistry teacher. Justin is a NEASC commissioner, and is still active in co-teaching in the classroom in his role as principal.”
He noted Tatistcheff “was also regional director of Outward Bound and a math teacher at St. Johnsbury Academy. Rebecca has extensive experience in project-based learning and student-centered leadership.”
Campbell is slated for an on-campus visit on Tuesday, Feb. 25, while Tatistcheff will get her turn on Friday, Feb. 28. An email from Burrows invited member of the MUHS Community, presumably including the general public and taxpayers, to meet the candidates in the MUHS from 8:10 to 8:50 a.m. on the days of their respective visits.
The search committee will review all information from the two visits and then second interviews on Feb. 28 to make final decisions regarding both candidates, according to Burrows.
Burrows promised to provide more information, including a “feedback form” and the candidates’ résumés, during the coming days.
The new hire will succeed longtime MUHS Principal Bill Lawson, who announced his retirement this past summer in order to give the district ample time to replace him by July 1.
