Letter to the editor: McGill’s work, dedication make her a strong candidate

Soon lawn signs will begin appearing in the Addison-5 legislative District towns (Bridport, New Haven, and Weybridge) saying “Jubilee for Vermont.” These signs introduce Jubilee McGill of Bridport, who is running for the Vermont House to represent the Addison-5 District.
Jubilee is a native of Middlebury and is a service coordinator with the John Graham Shelter in Vergennes, where she works with people experiencing homelessness to find permanent housing. Previously she worked as a senior property manager and compliance manager at the Addison County Community Trust, which provides affordable housing in our area. Jubilee identifies with the people she works with, having overcome through her own efforts and an ACCT housing subsidy her own period of housing and financial insecurity.
Jubilee is strongly dedicated to helping the less fortunate in our society through providing more affordable housing, working for racial and climate justice, promoting a livable wage for workers, and helping Vermonters to recover from the economic devastation resulting from the pandemic. Jubilee did a fantastic job earlier this year as the founder of Addison County Mutual Aid, which connects people with pandemic-related needs with volunteers who can assist them.
I encourage residents of Bridport, New Haven and Weybridge to vote for Jubilee McGill as soon as they receive their mail-in ballots.
