Letter to the editor: Rakowski supported for Vergennes City Council

We are writing to support Susan Rakowski for Vergennes City Council. We have all served with Sue in one of her many leadership positions.
In her many years as a Vermont resident, Sue has served this community well in so many capacities. Whether it was the Evergreen Preschool Board of Directors, the Vergennes Swim Team Council, the Vergennes Elementary School Community Group, the Vergennes Union Elementary School Board or as Chairperson of the Addison Northwest School District Board, Sue demonstrated outstanding leadership, organization and advocacy for the people of this community.
She has the desire and disposition to build toward consensus, but she is smart and will advocate for a future Vergennes that is safe, inclusive and vibrant.  Sue is a problem-solver. She knows how to bring people together, share information, and make good choices that will strengthen the already strong heartbeat in Vergennes. We’ve all seen her lead the way through hard work, smart questions and a desire to promote the common good.
We believe in Sue’s inspiring vision for our city. It’s a vision that will lead to greater housing availability, improved efficiency in our wastewater system, smart conversations about a future economic corridor, and greater support for recreational opportunities within the city.
We are grateful that we have had the opportunity to serve with her, and we are delighted that Sue has made herself a candidate for the Vergennes City Council.
We hope that you will join us in supporting Susan Rakowski’s candidacy for Vergennes City Council on March 2.
Sincerely,
Dorothy Anguish, Cheryl Brinkman, Tara Brooks, Christopher Cousineau, Bethany Farrell, Neil Kamman, Mark Koenig, Carla Mayo, Keith Morrill, Lynne Rapoport, Heather Simons, John Stroup and Tracy Tembreull
