Vermont State Police Log: Troopers cite NY driver for DUI and more
ADDISON COUNTY — A Vermont State Police trooper observed multiple motor vehicle violations on Stage Road near Route 7 in Ferrisburgh in the wee hours of Jan. 23, and pulled the car over at around 1:12 a.m.
State police report that driver Nyeisha V. Watson, 32, of Albany, N.Y., appeared to be intoxicated, so they screened her for driving under the influence, of DUI. The officer arrested Watson and transported her to the New Haven state police barracks for processing.
Troopers cited Watson for driving under the influence of drugs, and released her. Police also issued Watson tickets for: speeding, failing to stop at a flashing signal, failing to use a turn signal, driving without a license, driving with an open container of marijuana and failing to keep her car in good condition. In all these tickets carry $914 in fines and 10 points on her driver’s license.
Watson is due to answer the charges in Addison County Superior Court, criminal division, on March 3.
Watson wasn’t the only driver to net multiple charges in recent state police activity.
Just the day before, on Jan. 22, at a few minutes before 7 p.m., troopers responded to a reported family fight on Hunt Farm Road in Bristol.
Police said that while they were investigating they noted that Dean Bushee, 27, of Bristol appeared to be impaired. And, During the course of the investigation Bushee provided Troopers with false and misleading information. Bushee was found to have operated a motor vehicle with a criminally suspended license. Bushee refused to be screened and was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI. Police released Bushee after citing him for DUI, second offense; two counts of giving false information to police; and driving with a suspended license.
Then, state police encountered Bushee again a few days later. On Jan. 26 at around noon, troopers answered a call about a motorist driving in a negligent manner on Hunt Farm Road in Bristol. Police determined that Bushee was the driver in question, but he left before state police came to talk with him.
After another call for a family fight, police said Bushee again gave troopers false and misleading information. Once again they cited him , this time for driving under the influence refusal, second offense; giving false information to police, driving with a criminally suspended license and unlawful mischief (because he allegedly damaged property that wasn’t his).
Bushee is due in court to answer charged on Feb. 10.
