Letter to the editor: Rogers Road is a safer place

Now that the speed bumps on Rogers Road have been in place for a couple of months, I would like to offer the opinion that they are the best thing to happen on that road since it stopped being a dead end. Living, as I do, between the speed bumps gives me a unique vantage point. It is almost impossible to measure the increased safety of the children, the walkers, the handicapped, the cyclists, the workers and pets. Traffic has slowed down considerably and any driver who crosses the bumps at an appropriate speed need not worry about damage. Even the occasional sound of a trailer hitting the bumps pales in comparison to the increased safety and overall quiet enjoyed by those of us who live here.

They have been so effective it would border on negligence to not have these installed yearly.

I want to thank the Greater Buttolph neighborhood for their support and thank those responsible for making ours a safer and quieter place.
