Solutions sought for Seymour Street flooding

MIDDLEBURY OFFICIALS ARE scoping out potential ways to prevent flooding at the Seymour Street underpass. The underpass has flooded twice during the past year, which has neighbors concerned about emergency responders’ ability to access the neighborhood during major rainstorms.

The town of Middlebury will work with Danforth Pewter, the Vermont Agency of Transportation and Vermont Rail System to potentially site an emergency access across train tracks to make sure the Seymour Street neighborhood can be accessed by the community’s largest emergency response vehicles during future major flood events.
