Solutions sought for Seymour Street flooding

The town of Middlebury will work with Danforth Pewter, the Vermont Agency of Transportation and Vermont Rail System to potentially site an emergency access across train tracks to make sure the Seymour Street neighborhood can be accessed by the community’s largest emergency response vehicles during future major flood events.

Topping the list of concerns is the current inability of large fire and rescue vehicles to access properties along Seymour Street and Seymour Street Extension through the Pulp Mill Covered Bridge.
