Bulldogs topple Tiger girls’ lacrosse
MIDDLEBURY — Division I title contender Burr & Burton defeated the Middlebury Union High School girls’ lacrosse team on Monday, 19-9, in a game played on Middlebury College’s Kohn Field due to wet conditions on the Tigers’ Fucile Field.
The Bulldogs, D-I finalists a year ago, improved to 5-1, while the Tigers dropped to 1-4 heading into a scheduled Wednesday home game vs. Essex.
For the Bulldogs, Paige Samuelson, Piper Morgan and Sadie Stefanak each scored four goals, and Brooke Weber added three.
Nora Wootten led the Tigers with four goals, while Lia Robinson scored two goals, assisted two goals, and scooped 10 ground balls. Ada Weaber and Nyna Cole each had a goal and an assist, Kenyon Connors scored a goal, and Ronan Young and Erin Sears chipped in with an assist apiece. Tiger goalie Ava Schneider made 13 saves.
