Bristol Police Log: Woman cited for embezzlement
BRISTOL — On Feb. 9, after months of investigation into a complaint of fraud, the Bristol Police Department cited Jodi Lathrop, 51, of Bristol for embezzlement.
Lathrop was ordered to appear in Addison Criminal Court on April 12 to answer to the charge.
Between Feb. 8 and 21 Bristol police completed 12 foot patrols, conducted five car patrols, monitored traffic during school dismissal three times, and checked security at Mount Abraham Union High School 12 times, at Bristol Elementary School 14 times, and at local businesses 13 times.
Police also completed at least 10 fingerprint requests, conducted one welfare check without incident, responded to one alarm that turned out to be false, helped three people get into their locked vehicles and facilitated the return of one loose dog.
The department also assisted Vermont State Police once.
In other recent activity, Bristol police:
• On Feb. 8 responded to a minor two-car crash with no injuries and will file a report.
• On Feb. 8 responded to a verbal dispute between citizens and separated the parties.
• On Feb. 9 helped someone with a disabled vehicle in the road.
• On Feb. 10 responded to a report of a dog bite and will complete a report.
• On Feb. 11 investigated a threatening complaint and determined that no action rose to the level of an offense.
• On Feb. 11 investigated a motor vehicle complaint but were unable to identify the vehicle involved.
• On Feb. 11 began investigating an animal complaint.
• On Feb. 14 responded to a noise complaint and the music was turned down.
• On Feb. 14 completed four sex offender registry checks and found all to be in compliance.
• On Feb. 16 responded to a motor vehicle complaint, located the operator and will file a report.
• On Feb. 16 provided emergency lights while a vehicle was pulled up a slippery hill.
• On Feb. 17 helped someone file the paperwork for an animal complaint.
• On Feb. 17 helped a social service agency with a compliance check.
• On Feb. 20 investigated a loud argument and determined that no action rose to the level of an offense.
