Stay up-to-date on local business closings

MIDDLEBURY — So many local businesses and organizations have been closing over the last week in response to COVID-19 it is difficult to keep track of them all. To that end, Experience Middlebury and Bristol CORE have each created an online directory where folks can find up-to-the-minute information on the status of local businesses. For Middlebury businesses, click here. For Bristol, click here. The Vergennes Partnership is also updating its Facebook page with business closures in the city.
“These are really challenging circumstances for everyone, including our small, locally owned businesses,” Karen Duguay of the Better Middlebury Partnership wrote in an email to the Addison Independent. “Unfortunately, there are no easy solutions to be found but I know that as a community we want to support these businesses in whatever way we can. Most of the stores that are open are offering the ability to place orders over the phone and several retailers do have online ordering options. For restaurants that remain open, nearly all of them are offering take out options for customers. And, the purchase of gift cards is something that helps keep revenue flowing to the businesses now. For the most updated info, I’d suggest calling the business directly as things are changing rapidly by the day.”
