Boys’ basketball: Middlebury & Mt. Abe win
ADDISON COUNTY — In local high school boys’ basketball action late last week, Middlebury split two games, Mount Abraham won once, Vergennes lost a road contest, and Otter Valley dropped a pair of home games.

TIGERS
On Wednesday the Tigers took a 35-12 halftime lead in a 56-39 victory over host Milton. Tyler Buxton (12 points) and Karic Riche (11) led a balanced MUHS offense.
On Friday visiting North Country edged the Tigers, 55-53. The Tigers had a chance to tie or win the game on their final possession after rallying as Wes Hirdler scored eight of his 10 points in the fourth quarter. Buxton led the 4-3 Tigers with 20 points.
EAGLES
On Wednesday the Eagles pulled away from visiting Missisquoi to win, 70-63. The Eagles outscored the T-Birds, 15-10, in the fourth quarter by hitting 10 of 13 free throws. Liam Kelliher led Mount Abe with 26 points, and Griffin Paradee added 13. Mount Abe improved to 3-4.
COMMODORES
On Wednesday host Enosburg posted a 50-41 victory over the Commodores. Josias Salomao tossed in a game-high 14 points, and Kevin Jackson added 10. VUHS dropped to 0-5.
OTTERS
On Wednesday visiting Proctor improved to 4-1 by defeating the Otters, 69-57. The Phantoms outscored OV in the third quarter, 18-7. Parker Todd led OV with 14 points, and Cole Letourneau, Alex Philo and Dylan Gaboriault added eight points apiece.
On Saturday visiting Division I Brattleboro coasted past OV, 75-30, dropping the Otters to 2-5. Todd scored 11 for OV, and Julian Lopez added seven.
