At Quarry Hill School in Middlebury, November is all about Stone Soup. Three- and 4-year-olds spend the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving immersing themselves in the classic tale — and preparing for a feast. They chop vegetables, make bread, churn butter, decorate stones and write menus and invitations. It all culminates in a big party, with songs and soup, at school with their families.
