Commodore girls tie one, win another
VERGENNES — The Vergennes Union High School won one soccer game and tied another in action late last week. The Commodores will carry a 2-1-1 record into a Tuesday game at MUHS.
On Wednesday the Commodores topped host Missisquoi, 4-1. Elsa Makelainen scored twice for VUHS, and Emily Rooney and Felicia Poirier added a goal apiece.
On Saturday visiting Fair Haven settled for a 1-1 tie. Rooney scored on a second-half direct kick to tie the game after Megan Ezzo gave the Slaters the first-half lead. VUHS goalie Kate Gosliga stopped six shots, and Emma Ezzo made five saves for the 4-0-1 Slaters.
