By Elizabeth Gribkoff of VTDigger.org

VERGENNES — Unseasonable rain that fell in Vermont during the weekend before Christmas led to the release of more than 2 million gallons of untreated and partially treated wastewater into rivers around the state.

Brandon, Montpelier, Rutland, St. Albans and Vergennes all reported combined sewer overflows to the state’s Department of Environmental Conservation. Posted on December 31, 2018 |
By Andy Kirkaldy

VERGENNES — Vergennes-area residents and visitors to the city’s downtown should soon have more time to run errands, shop and dine with less worry of finding a paper ticket tucked under their windshield wipers indicating a $10 fine.

Posted on December 31, 2018 |
By Laurie D. Morrissey

TOS_Mountain_Ash.jpg

There’s a giant living in northern Coös County, N.H. It’s a 61-foot tall tree, the country’s largest known American mountain ash.
