Home Health and Hospice hires Greifzu as new clinical director

<p> MIDDLEBURY &mdash; Addison County Home Health and Hospice in Middlebury has hired Sherry Greifzu, RN, MSN, AOCN, as its new clinical director.</p><p> &ldquo;I look forward to partnering with Sherry as our agency faces the challenges of the ever-changing and complex world of healthcare,&rdquo; says Larry Goetschius, ACHHH executive director. &ldquo;Her clinical expertise, leadership skills and enthusiasm for patient care will be a great addition to our team.&rdquo; He adds: &ldquo;Sherry&rsquo;s focus is on delivering the best care possible; she firmly believes that a strongly supported and well educated staff is the core means to this end.&rdquo;</p><p> Greifzu has an extensive clinical, administrative and educational background with a focus on nursing oncology. Her most recent work has been with Novocure Corp. as a clinical science liaison, providing education and training to physicians and staff in cancer centers in the Northeast. She also worked with Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center as an oncology clinical nurse project consultant and is a faculty instructor in the nursing program at Franklin Pierce University in Lebanon, N.H.</p><p> Greifzu began her career with hands-on nursing experience in inpatient medical oncology units in several hospitals and progressed to nurse leadership roles, most recently at Dartmouth Hitchcock, where she was director of nursing practice and education, providing oversight for nursing standards development and evidence-based practice for all nursing practice specialties within inpatient and outpatient services.&nbsp;</p><p> &ldquo;Her love of teaching and collaboration make her an ideal fit for ACHHH,&rdquo; says Marcia Wheeler, acting clinical director and hospice director. &ldquo;She is articulate, knowledgeable, warm, and speaks our (home care and hospice) language. She will lead us into the future.&rdquo;</p><p> Greifzu is not new to home care; on weekends she worked with a visiting nurse association in Connecticut. &ldquo;It is important to me to continue with hands-on care,&rdquo; explains Greifzu. &ldquo;It&rsquo;s at the heart of mentoring nurses and clinical staff to provide the best patient care, while supporting the mission and vision of Addison County Home Health &amp; Hospice.
