FERRISBURGH — Vermont Agency of Transportation officials at Tuesday’s Ferrisburgh selectboard meeting unveiled a new traffic light and flow design for the intersection of Route 7 and Little Chicago and Middlebrook roads that they said will resemble that for the junction of Route 7 and Monkton Road a few miles south.

Project manager Joshua Schultz described the plan as only a rough draft that could be changed after feedback from town and Ferrisburgh Central School officials, residents and area business owners.

FERRISBURGH — The Ferrisburgh Central School board on Thursday left open the door to buying a 2-acre parcel next to the school, but decided first to approach the selectboard on this Tuesday to see if the town is interested in the land, which school board members said could be used as parking for the nearby town office building and community center.

However, on Friday morning selectboard chairwoman Loretta Lawrence said the town already has a plan in place to expand the limited onsite parking for its Route 7 building.

FERRISBURGH — At their Thursday meeting, the Ferrisburgh Central School board heard a proposal for a roughly 120-kilowatt solar array that would produce about the same amount of electricity needed to power FCS for a year.

Jon Budreski of Waterbury’s SunCommon outlined an arrangement for a solar array that would not provide electricity directly to the school, but through net-metering would earn FCS a credit of about $2,500 a year on its power bill.

Those funds were turned over to the Vergennes Rotary Club, which in turn planned to donate the cash to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Vergennes.
