Vermont State Police Log for Feb. 1

Vermont State Police working out of the New Haven barracks in the past week have dealt with a couple traffic crashes, issued a couple citations for driving under the influence and investigated some domestic violence cases.

At a few minutes after midnight this past Friday, Jan. 19, Vermont State Police responded to a 911 call from Maleek Drummond, 42, of Brooklyn, N.Y., who was calling from the Ferrisburgh Park & Ride at the confluence of Routes 7 and 22A.

Vermont State Police based in New Haven issued three driving under the influence, or DUI, citations during the past week, in addition to charging a Vermont man in a road-rage incident.

In an otherwise quiet week, Vermont State Police working out of the New Haven barracks had only one encounter with the public that troopers deemed worthy of reporting to the public.

The last few days of 2023 and start of 2024 were quiet days for the local officers of the Vermont State Police, though a two-car crash just outside Vergennes on New Year’s Eve netted an Addison woman a traffic ticket.

A 25-year-old Bridport man was killed in a holiday car crash in his hometown.

Vermont State Police came away from call about a family fight in Salisbury this past Friday evening with a 44-year-old woman in custody.

After Monday morning’s snowfall glazed local roads, a driver and her four young passengers found the car they were in sliding off Route 125 in Cornwall and flipping onto its roof, and the driver later found herself facing charges.

During a relatively quiet week, troopers at the Vermont State Police barracks in New Haven during the afternoon of Dec. 2 received a report of an assault that had occurred earlier in the day.

Vermont State Police dealt with several motor vehicle incidents in the past week — some involving impaired driving, and others dealing with crashes.

Vermont State Police early this week issued an arrest warrant charging 23-year-old Trent J. Beayon with attempted murder, reckless endangerment and aggravated assault in connection with a shooting in Orwell on Friday, Nov. 17.

A Vermont State Police trooper was sitting in a cruiser parked on Route 7 near Dog Team Road in New Haven on Monday, Nov. 13, at around a quarter to six p.m. when he saw a sedan speeding northbound on the highway passing other cars and apparently forcing … (read more)

Vermont State Police responded to multiple reports of an active fight on the side of Route 7 near the intersection with Fern Lake Road in Leicester on Sunday at around 10 minutes  before 1 p.m. 

Vermont State Police were called to the Aubuchon Hardware parking lot off Monkton Road in Ferrisburgh this past Monday morning for a report that a pickup truck had struck a pedestrian.

Vermont State Police received an unusually large number of reports of vehicle thefts and thefts from vehicles in Bristol, Lincoln, Monkton and Starksboro throughout the early morning of Oct. 20.
