Nights of Grief & Mystery plays in Vergennes

A team of Vermont volunteers is hosting a Nights of Grief and Mystery event at the Vergennes Opera House on Oct. 3. This is a rare opportunity to hear the work of Stephen Jenkinson and Greg Hoskins, who are touring North America with a full band. 

The all-volunteer Friends of the Vergennes Opera House has announced a full slate of shows for their 2022-2023 season.

As Friends of the Vergennes Opera House President Gerianne Smarts tells it, the last building in downtown Vergennes that currently lacks full handicap access is the very space that sparked the city’s revitalization during the 1990s.

Vermont comedian, storyteller and musician, Rusty DeWees, returns to the Vergennes Opera House on Saturday, March 19, at 7:30 p.m.

The first show of the year 2022 to take place in the Vergennes Opera House will pay tribute to four amazing female Jazz/Blues singers.

“Given the prevalence and virility of the current Covid strain in our community, we felt it was best to keep the Vergennes Opera House dark for a few more weeks,” said Gerianne Smart.

Bob Stannard has played at the Vergennes Opera House before, plenty of times, and each time he, and his merry band of “Dangerous Bluesmen” have put on an unforgettable show.
