Letter to the editor: ACSD board candidate shares campaign priorities

My name is Jess Venable-Novak and I am one of the Middlebury candidates running for the Addison Central School District School Board.

Without a doubt, the most crowded races on Bristol’s Town Meeting Day ballot this year will be those for seats on the Lawrence Memorial Library Board of Trustees.

The Bristol selectboard has approved a fiscal year 2026 budget proposal that reflects $3,784,825 in total spending, up 8.31% from the current year.

New Haven voters on Town Meeting Day will weigh in on a two-person race for one of the town’s seats on the Mount Abraham Unified School District Board.

As a selectboard member in and resident of Addison County, I wanted to thank Marin Howell for her timely article in the Jan 30 issue of the Addy Indy on boosting community participation in Town Meeting Day.

I am happy to be running for a position on the Bristol library board, having moved back to Vermont this year after living for 30 years out west.

I’ve been a resident of Lincoln for most of my life. I believe in democracy and have expressed my opinion at the ballot box, both national and local, whenever an election has been conducted.

Please support me on the ballot March 4 as a write in candidate (3-year) to serve as Lawrence Memorial Library Trustee.

We urge voters in Vergennes and several other Vermont towns to reject well-meant but futile resolutions attacking Israel.

When voters in the Mount Abraham Unified School District head to the polls on Town Meeting Day they’ll be asked whether to allow district officials to transfer up to $1.04 million from MAUSD’s Capital Reserve Fund to the general fund. The money would help … (read more)

Ferrisburgh residents will consider from the floor of town meeting on Saturday, March 1, the selectboard’s proposed Fiscal Year 2026 spending plan of $2,830,154, which was adopted on Jan. 28.
