Middlebury Community Players presents “blisteringly funny” one-acts

Get ready to laugh – Middlebury Community Players will present three one-act plays by George Bernard Shaw Aug. 21-24 at the ART Black Box Theater at the Hannaford Career Center.

The author wrote this appreciation after earlier this month seeing a series of Beckett plays at Unadilla Theater, a Vermont gem located in a rural part of Marshfield.

Drama met nature last week during an outdoor production of “The Haunted Forest,” an original play written and performed by close to 30 Middlebury Area Land Trust (MALT) summer program campers on the Trail Around Middlebury this past Friday.

Through its programs, the company aims to help kids build community, self-esteem and other skills in a safe and supportive environment.  

The Bald Mountain Theater will present its annual emersion into the world of folk and fairy tales in this production on July 25, 26 and 27 at the studio in Rochester.

Director Cláudio Medeiros chose this play last summer to stage at Middlebury College this spring. “I had no idea what it would mean today… it’s uncanny, and scary.”
